ABOUT MARY ROSE

Mary Rose, like her husband, is originally from northern Clarendon County, South Carolina – specifically a rural, unincorporated, a community between Turbeville and Lake City. She holds a bachelor’s degree in social work from Limestone College and is a licensed minister who serves as associate pastor at Oak Grove AME Church, which is also in Clarendon County.

Mary Rose worked for 15 years at the Kingstree hospital, now known as MUSC Health Black River Medical Center. She served in various capacities, including as an admitting clerk and switch board operator.  She later worked for 18 years as a computer lab manager at Kenneth Gardner Leadership Academy in Kingstree. She retired from Williamsburg County School District in 2015.

Rose Cleaning Service names new CEO

Rose Cleaning Service, a company that has been a staple in Kingstree, South Carolina, and surrounding areas for decades, has named Mary Rose as it’s CEO.

She takes over as head of a business she has supported since its humble beginnings in 1996. James Rose, founder and former CEO of Rose Cleaning Service, has transitioned into a managerial role with the business. The shift allows him to focus more on JLR, his company that specializes in plumbing, carpentry and painting.

“My husband, James, and I started Rose Cleaning Service by cleaning yards with just a few gardening tools and a trailer behind an old truck,” stated Mary Rose said, as she reflected on the company’s modest beginnings. “However, we had a vision and worked tirelessly to grow the company into what it is today. There is pride in knowing if you try hard enough, you can succeed.” Rose Cleaning Service specializes in residential and commercial cleaning and has a client roster that includes schools, churches, medical offices and other businesses. The company also provides septic tank installation, landscaping, lot clearing, dirt hauling and demolition services. In addition to Kingstree and the rest of Williamsburg County, its service area extends to surrounding cities and towns in the Palmetto State, such as Florence, Lake City, Manning and Sumter.

GROWING THE COMPANY

The leadership change symbolizes a new era for Rose Cleaning Service — a period Mary Rose believes will be marked by growth and expansion. The company has about a dozen employees and seeks to double that number in the near future. Meanwhile, she is exploring the feasibility of opening a second location in Olanta, a town in neighboring Florence County.  Mary Rose also wants the company to host janitorial classes and trainings to expose more people to the profession and to let them know it’s a line of work you can be proud of. “We want to show the younger generation how to get into the cleaning profession,” Mary Rose said. “It’s honest work you can turn into a satisfying and rewarding career. It’s nothing to frown upon.”

All the while, she says Rose Cleaning Service will continue to stand as a company defined by hard work, dedication, honesty and fairness — principles that have shaped its favorable reputation throughout Kingstree and beyond.  James Rose echoes those sentiments. “We have been fortunate and blessed to serve as the employer for many people over the years, and we always want our staff members to know we care about them and have their best interests at heart,” he said.
As for the company’s clientele, Mary Rose shares equal appreciation.
“We are grateful to every individual and organization that has trusted Rose Cleaning Service to handle their cleaning needs. We strive to provide the best service possible and want you to know your space and property will be cared for excellently. That’s our pledge.
